What Datadog is
Datadog is a cloud monitoring and observability platform that unifies infrastructure metrics, application performance traces, and log management into a single interface. It gives engineering teams continuous visibility into system health, latency, and error rates across services, with real-time alerting and customisable dashboards.
How we integrate Datadog with Shopify
Datadog does not have a native Shopify App Store connector; integration is done at the infrastructure and application layer. For custom Shopify apps or middleware services Ecom Majesty builds, Datadog is wired in through its APM agent or serverless integration — capturing trace data from backend functions, API response times, and error events. Shopify's own infrastructure is not directly observable, but the custom code Ecom Majesty ships (Shopify Functions deployments aside) can be fully instrumented. Log pipelines from application services are forwarded to Datadog for centralised search and alerting.
