What Stripe is

Stripe is a developer-first payment processing platform that handles online and in-person payments across more than 135 currencies, with built-in tools for recurring billing, fraud prevention via Stripe Radar, and detailed revenue reporting — making it a common choice for custom checkout experiences and subscription-commerce builds.

How we integrate Stripe with Shopify

On standard Shopify storefronts, Stripe connects as an alternative payment gateway through the Shopify Payments partner programme or via a third-party gateway configuration in the admin. For headless Shopify builds using Hydrogen or a custom frontend, Ecom Majesty integrates Stripe's JavaScript SDK and server-side APIs directly, building a custom checkout flow that posts orders back to Shopify's order management layer once payment is confirmed. Ecom Majesty also handles Stripe Billing configuration for subscription products, sets up webhook listeners for payment events (charge succeeded, refund issued, dispute opened), and wires these to any downstream order or ERP system in the client's stack.

What the work involves
